Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Winfein Safaris website and the general conditions under which we plan and deliver safari experiences in Uganda. By using the site or requesting a trip, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Winfein Safaris

2. Using this website

  • Content (text, images, itineraries, pricing displays, and branding) is for general information and inspiration.
  • You may not copy, scrape, or reuse our content for commercial purposes without written permission.
  • Do not misuse the site (attempted hacking, spam submissions, or abusive behaviour).
  • Website availability may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.

3. Inquiries are not automatic bookings

Submitting the contact form, joining an event interest list, or requesting an itinerary is an inquiry, not a confirmed booking. A trip becomes confirmed only when we issue a written confirmation (email is fine) and any required deposit or payment terms stated in that confirmation are met.

4. Quotes, prices, and inclusions

  • Prices shown on the site (if any) are indicative and may change with seasons, park fees, fuel, lodge rates, group size, and currency movement.
  • Your final quote will state what is included and excluded (for example park permits, gorilla/chimp permits, meals, transport, guide fees, tips).
  • Government park fees and permits are set by authorities and can change without notice; we pass those through at cost unless otherwise agreed.

5. Payments

Payment instructions (bank transfer or other methods we approve) will be provided with your confirmation. Typical arrangements include a deposit to secure services and a balance before travel. Exact amounts and deadlines appear in your booking confirmation.

6. Cancellations and changes

  • Cancellation and change rules depend on suppliers (lodges, permit offices, transporters) and will be summarised in your confirmation.
  • Gorilla and chimpanzee permits are often non-refundable once issued; treat those dates as firm.
  • If we must change an itinerary for safety, weather, park closures, or supplier issues, we will offer a reasonable alternative of comparable value where possible.
  • Please buy comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical evacuation, and adventure activities.

7. Traveller responsibilities

  • Ensure valid passport, visas, vaccinations, and entry requirements for Uganda (and any other countries on your route).
  • Disclose medical conditions, dietary needs, and fitness limitations that may affect trekking or game drives.
  • Follow guide instructions in parks and on activities; wildlife encounters involve inherent risk.
  • Respect local communities, customs, and conservation rules (no littering, no illegal wildlife products).

8. Health, safety, and assumption of risk

Safari and outdoor travel involve risks including wildlife, terrain, weather, remote locations, and limited medical facilities. By travelling with us you accept those inherent risks. We take reasonable care in selecting guides and partners, but we are not liable for injury, loss, or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control (force majeure), or by the acts of third-party suppliers, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Third-party services

Lodges, airlines, permit offices, and independent contractors are separate businesses. Their terms may apply in addition to ours. We help coordinate them for your trip but are not responsible for every independent failure beyond our reasonable control.

10. Intellectual property

The Winfein Safaris name, logo, site design, and original content are protected. Portfolio photos and stories may depict past guest trips shared with permission or for marketing; do not reuse them without consent.

11. Newsletter and communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you agree to receive occasional updates about experiences and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time. Transactional emails about your inquiry or booking are separate from marketing and may still be sent as needed to serve your request.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Winfein Safaris is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost enjoyment or missed connections) arising from website use or travel arrangements, except for liability that cannot legally be limited (such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence where such exclusion is not allowed).

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Disputes will first be addressed in good faith; failing that, courts in Uganda have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence require otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material booking terms already confirmed in writing for a specific trip remain as stated in that confirmation unless both parties agree otherwise.
