Murchison Falls: how to plan your first visit

Murchison Falls National Park pairs big wildlife with one of Africa’s great river spectacles. The Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before exploding outward — best seen by boat and from the top. We usually plan a morning or afternoon cruise toward the falls, then a short hike to the viewpoint. Northern-bank game drives often deliver elephants, giraffes, and lion country without heavy traffic. If you only have three or four days in the north, Murchison is the clear anchor: falls, river, and savanna in one park.
